Camp Setup
Sunday, August 26th & Monday, August 27, 2007  - all day

If you happen to hit the playa early and feel like putting in some volunteer hours, please come by and visit us and help us erect and decorate our Dome of the Dead. Cold drinks and our eternal gratitude will be available. Any amount of time you have to spare is appreciated.

Dia de los Muertos Workshop - Papel Picado
Tuesday, August 28, 2007  - 3:00pm-5:00pm

Learn the Mexican folk art of making intricate paper designs. Take your creation home or hang it in our dome to add your touch to our art project. Plastic covers and other LNT measures will be undertaken by the FDLM camp.

Come decorate a skull mask or "calavera" Dia de los Muertos style at this workshop, then come back Thursday night to wear it in our parade.

FIESTA de los MUERTOS Face Painting Parade Prep Thursday, August 30, 2007 - 7:00pm-9:00pm

Get gussied up for the FIESTA de los MUERTOS parade by getting your face painted as a "calavera" (skull) or other spirit of the night. Then come with us as we parade through the streets and celebrate death in life. Please note that this time is different than the What Where When, as we moved the parade back an hour.

FIESTA de los MUERTOS Parade
Thursday, August 30, 2007 - 9:00pm-???

Bring out your dead! Wear your skull mask you made earlier in the week, get your face painted as a skull or devil, or invent your own deadly disguise, but meet us at the FIESTA de los MUERTOS dome and then help us terrorize the streets of the playa, Dia de los Muertos style. Bring your musical instruments, drums, mobile fire performance, stiltwalkers, puppets, and whatever you can dream up. We'll tour the streets and end up back at the dome to party the rest of the night away. Please note that this time is different than the What Where When, as we moved the parade back an hour to avoid conflicting with other events.

The spirits of the living and the dead meet to celebrate death in life. Whether you participated in our parade or not, come to our dead man's party in your deadly and devilish best.

Chess Lessons

 Always wanted to learn to play chess? Why not on the playa? Come by the camp and ask for Eric.

Violet Wand Demonstrations

On certain nights we will be demonstrating a vintage violet wand or "violet ray" - a static electricity device once used for medical purposes in the earlier part of the twentieth century, now a curiosity and stimulating experiences for the senses of touch and sight. Ask for Jenna at the dome if you're interested in seeing it demonstrated.
